| Keith
Dempster has been a mainstay in the open-wheel racing
scene for many years and has been a force to reckon with
at every turn. After several successful years behind the
wheel of a TQ Midget, Keith turned his attention to Sprint
Car racing in 2000.
Immediately,
it was apparent that Keith's move to full-sized cars was
the right one as he won the season opening Southern
Ontario Sprints race at Brighton Speedway in his first
attempt by beating former series champion John Riegling to
the line. Keith would go on
to capture three more wins that year and secure the SOS
title in his rookie season. In
2002, Keith would become the first two-time SOS champion
while claiming one victory that year.
Keith would
go through a short winless drought while competing where
time and money allowed. He drove for a brief time for Dave
MacLeod before Glenn Styres contacted him to join Styres
Racing.
In 2007,
Keith was reunited with his familiar colours and number
under the Styres banner. The move paid instance dividends
as he returned to victory lane in the #5 in SOS
competition at Ohsweken in August.
Since
moving to Styres Racing Keith has recorded 3 wins and was
crowned the first ever Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car
champion at Ohsweken Speedway in 2008. He has competed in
every World of Outlaw event at Ohsweken.
Next time
you are at the track, stop by the Styres Racing trailer
and say hello to Keith and pick up an autograph card. The
support of racing fans young and old is very much
appreciated by the entire team!
